“…I believe that creativity is limited by imagination. By allowing my own imagination to have no boundaries I can unleash the fury on my designs and art…”
A Bit About Me
My name is Christopher Landman. I am 28 years old and I am a media designer, front end designer, user experience developer, digital artist and pixel perfectionist. I have been working as a designer for the past 9 years. Art and design is my passion so the past 9 years have been a joy in my working experience.
I started drawing at a very young age, before I left school I already started freelancing at the age of 18. While doing a course in Media Design and Technology at Damelin I further developed my skills to become a professional designer.
Once I had finished up my course, I could have gone into DTP but digital media and animation was my passion.
In June 2007, I landed my first job as a web designer and PHP developer at Urban Lava Advertising, a print and web design studio in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
At Urban Lava, I was the only web designer which meant I designed and developed all of the agency’s websites at the time. I resigned from Urban Lava in order to pursue a full time freelance career and teamed up with BANN Advertising.
From March 2008 to February 2009, I took on various kinds of projects while freelancing. It all ranged from: designing and developing websites; PSD to XHTML conversion; Flash Presentations; After Effects animation; branding and developing the UI of 2 social community sites of which I’m still currently busy with one of them, Artrift; various logo and brand identity designs.
After moving to Cape Town in February 2009, I joined Vegas Kings in March 2009. I specialised in website UI design, online advertising banner design, email designs, interactive media design and development. Various projects also involve character design and animation.
In April 2011 I was offered to take up the role of the lead UX developer and UI designer at startup social network called Silvergrey. My role consisted of designing the UI for the web app, iOS app, Android app; ensuring branding materials, presentations for marketing materials were all top notch! Unfortunately, after 2 years, development halted.
In March 2013, I started at Mobimedia. I had the opportunity to design and code the frontend for the new Springbok site; the Orland Pirates’ site; and many other major sport brands. My role consisted of: taking care of inhouse brands; revamping inhouse websites; creating presentations; updating clients’ site content; maintaining SEO.
In November 2013, I wanted to pursue a freelance career on a permanent basis. However, I was approached by Vegas Kings at this time, and I decided to take the opportunity due to the financial security. My role consisted of: UI design and UX development of websites and mobile applications; designing and coding responsive emailers; illustration and animation.
In June 2015, I joined SharpSpring which was previously known as GraphicMail. My daily duties involve: UI design and UX development; designing and coding responsive emailers; illustration and animation.
